Orsett's Origins

The Golf Club was founded in 1899; this magnificent championship course designed by the legendary James Braid was firmly embedded into this piece of the Essex countryside. In the early years Orsett became a focal point for the local community to gather and enjoy their golf; even through the hard times of the two world wars. In recent years Orsett had established itself as a regional qualifying course for The Open Championship on 11 occasions.
